printing quality

I am using an epson lx 300 dotmatrix printer.
When i try to print text files or html documents from netscape the qaolity
is relativly ok. When i try to print from another source (ie. dvi or ps)
the quallity i get is terible.
Under windows I use the driver for lx 800 or lx810 or jx80 (if i'm didn't 
make a mistake in the letter prefix) and i get an acceptable qaolity.
If anyone knows the correct driver for Magicfilter and/or how to improve
the printing quality under debian.
