I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to fix a minor problem I'm having with the time on my system. If I run an xterm (or any of the terminals on <CNTRL><ALT>F1-F6) and enter the date command, it will show the correct time Sat Mar 20 09:47:04 EST 1999 for example. When I echo $TZ, it shows EST5EDT. If I run asclock, however, it shows 10:47. I'm so confused.
