I switched to Earthlink a couple of months ago and tried many, many different configurations (PAP, CHAP, whatever) until I realized I had to put in my username as "ELN/username" in place of just "username" that I had become accustomed to. Apparently it's because they lease they're dial up numbers from Sprint (at least here in Boise, ID).
