I've done two things in the last few days, and one of them has broken apt-get. First, I've moved to kernel 2.2.0-pre8 (I know 2.2.0 is out, but I've not had time to download that huge bugger, and I already had a copy of -pre8). I've also moved /usr off of one of my machines, and it's being shared (nfs) from another.
now running "apt-get install gnome-terminal" returns: E: Could not get lock /var/cache/apt/lock - open (37 No locks available) E: Couldn't lock the cache dir, /var/cache/apt/ another process is using it if I remove /var/cache/apt/lock and try again, I get the same message, with a new (empty) /var/cache/apt/lock file.
