I've occasionally noticed this before, but rarely print multiple things at a time.
my printcap entry is thequname:\ :lp=/dev/null:sh:\ :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp:\ :rm=itsinternetname:rp=raw: I'm using lpr if it makes a difference. However, on other occasions, things seem to happily que up. Similarly, while it is printing, lpq takes a long time to respond--sometimes not returning for several minutes, or simply announcing the connection is down: smithttyp1:current>lpq smith: sending to <name> Rank Owner Job Files Total Size 1st hawk 75 (standard input) 78830 bytes smithttyp1:current>lpq smith: sending to <name> Rank Owner Job Files Total Size 1st hawk 75 (standard input) 78830 bytes dconnection to <name> is down smithttyp1:current>lpq connection to <name> is down --
