Mmmm.... does amp convert an 112 kb/sec mp3 to the standard 44100/16bit? And anyway, I'm used to use mpg123 as it has a smaller CPU consumption than other decoders. In fact, I think amp has a CPU consumption 3% higher than mpg123. Around 20%. But anyway v2, I just found out that splay has a 3-5% CPU consumption making it the quickest. Does anyone have a table with CPU consumtion rate and decoding quality ? ( I don't know if all decoders _must_ provide the same output...) -- p.
