Yes. dpkg --purge --force-remove-reinstreq wmaker For help on forcing dpkg to do its job, use dpkg --force-help. "--force-remove-reinstreq" will successfully remove a package that require reinstallation, but there is a warning that this may seriously damage your installation. I have used this myself and had no problems though. I guess the "serious damage" possibilities are mostly theoretical, at least when the package concerned isn't important. Helge Hafting
