Does your office run a dns server? If so, you may want to put it in
/etc/resolv.conf. If not, you will need to put each host you want to be
able to reach by name in /etc/hosts. If you only need to reach one or a
few hosts, the latter would be the best solution even if your office does
run dns.

The ppp peer at the office end must be properly configured as a gateway,
unless it is the only host you need to reach.
