In article <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: >so everytime a send a message to any user, let say joe.user >exim correctly change the 'to:' field to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" >but then it claims: > >[EMAIL PROTECTED]: > unknown local-part "joe.user" in domain "my.domain.name"
Do you have a user "joe.user" in your password file? If not, then how is exim supposed to know how to deliver the email? If the user's login name is 'joe', you can put aliases into /etc/aliases, e.g.: joe.user: joe Paul Slootman -- home: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | work: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | debian: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.wurtel.demon.nl | Murphy Software, Enschede, the Netherlands
