The install .deb from slink installed the standalone communicator (glibc2) just fine for me. There was a small problem when the filename of the tar.gz file didn't match what the installer expected, there was a missing digit somewhere. Fortunately the installer write the expected filename mask in the error message, the problem was then easily fixed by renaming the .tar.gz file from netscape.
