I just wanted to let people know that I've sent Doug Ledford an unofficial set of installation-disk images for hamm, including version 5.1.2 of the aic7xxx driver, which he's agreed to make available at the aic7xxx ftp-site (ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/aic/). They include the rescue and drivers disks (x86 only) in both 1.2Mb and 1.44Mb formats, along with some brief instructions. With a little luck, it won't be long until they're available...
Hopefully this will make it a bit easier to install Debian on systems that aren't able to boot using the version of the driver on the official boot-disks.
