The dselect screen is divided in three parts the top part is the one u describe with the list of packages, as your cursor moves thru each item is highlited.
the b lue line in the middle gives u the status of the package highlited, i.e whether it is on your system and whether it is install. It also tells u your selection (i.e. if u want it installed) and your previous choices (i.e. if it was a purge or what) the bottom part gives you a description of the package highlited hope it helps. -----Original Message----- From: Kent West <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: rathon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: debian-user@lists.debian.org <debian-user@lists.debian.org> Date: 03 November 1998 06:36 Subject: Re: XF86Setup on Debian2.0 - help >On 3 Nov 1998, rathon wrote: > >> Hi, >> >> I was installing Debian2.0 on a new PC and I have two question: >> >> 1) While in deselect, I would see the follwoing >> >> EIOM >> *** <some package name> etc etc >> *** <some package name> etc etc >> >> How can I tell that the above pkg has already been installed ?
