OK, there's another gotcha. Once you've selected PCMCIA, don't bother
to try to select an ethernet driver when you're selecting drivers. When
you get around to "Configure Your Network" you'll be asked what your
primary network interface is, the menu shows ethernet and that's the
obvious thing to select, BUT, hidden one line below all the lines that
are displayed (use the down arrow key) is a choice for PCMCIA (ethernet
card) and that's what you want to select. There may be a way to fix this
up after the fact, but I just re-installed (one more time) when I ran
into this.
