I am very inexperienced and seem to be able to login as root without having to supply a password.
My machine boots straight to the root account without a passwd being required. If I do passwd to change root password it appears to take the new password but then if I do a login as root I do not have to enter the new passwd. I want to require a password for root before I get ppp working. That seems smart to me anyway. Any help will be appreciated
