Hi there,

Does anybody know about troubles with
linux running on a Gigabyte GA586
(ali chipset, AGP, supports 100MHz)
board (with 200MHz Pentium - no MMX,
64MB SDRAM, NO overclocking)?

I just got one and tried to start
an already working hamm by remote
booting (linux 2.0.35). However, after
detecting the network card and
mounting the root fs via NFS (server
reports the fs has mounted).
the beast stops
working (though I can receive ping
echos from another machine).

Remote booting works flawlessly
for several other machines, so I
doubt that the problem is
server side.

I disabled all shadows, power management,
speed settings and the like from the
BIOS, but nothing helps.

Are there any concerns?
Ferdinand.
