This time what I want to know is
1. Can you set up a dns server and dhcp server on as one computer. if so how
do you go about it.
2. I got the floppy mounted with the following command
mount -t auto /dev/fd0 /mnt one you do this you can only see the files
in the diskette that was mounted. Even when the diskette is changed.
my question is once you mount a floppy and use it do you have to unmount
it before you can change the floppy. If so what are the commands to use.
3. Currently my system does not see my network card. what programs to can I
get to help me atomatically dectect it. Basically I have just the os with
no packages. Can I do it manually ? How?
4. The address sent to me on dhcp (at ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/ldp)
could not be access. I feel there is a typho error. If you could correct it
or send me an alternative I will be very happy.
5. In dos you can have your current directory listed in the command prompt
by doing prompt $p$g what is the equivalent for linux.
6. Can I install the packages which come with slackware version of linux to
debian linux?.
(sorry for all this seeming trivial questions.) I am In Douala Cameroon. and
we want to set up and ISP. Problems is a null availability of English books
so we just ordered three linux books from the states. When they will get
here nobody know but I just have to keep giong using what means I have at my
disposal which is this mailing list.
