I'll be interested in any replies to this. None of my Adaptec cards (2940s, both ultra and wide-ultra) will work with either hamm or slackware 3.5. There's limited available on this, but as far as I can tell it's a bug in the .34 kernel which wasn't there in the previous kernel and as been fixed in the latest (.35?) which isn't in any of the distros yet. Bummer. The only solutions that I can see are: a) Wait for the next set of distributions b) Buy BusLogic (Mylex) c) Download the .35 kernel and build it into your hamm or whatever (probably the best solution, but sadly a bit out of my depth at this early stage) If I'm wrong about any of the above, someone please put me right. If I'm right then I'm suprised more of a stink hasn't been made about it since there must be staggering numbers of aic7xxx controllers out there. Harry
