THe dos fat sectors didn't seem to make it, though :( But i only tried this on the harrd drive, not the zip; i'm still waiting for an answer there >
1) Can you please not write paragraphs all on one line. Your composer might be wrapping the text for your eyes, but it's not wrapping it for the rest of us. 2) "regardless of what it put on /dev/hda2". Is that why your dos fat sectors didn't make it? 3) AIUI zip disks are partitioned just like ordinary ones, with one exception: they are supplied with a single partition, but it's partition number 4. You should be able to recreate this effect with fdisk, though not with cfdisk.
