You mix up typesetters and front ends... TeX is the real program created by Don Knuth, LaTeX is a set of macros written by Leslie Lamport in order to help typesetting of documents with TeX. Lyx is a graphical and wysywyg frontend for LaTeX and Klyx is its KDE version. IMHO you're better have to learn the LaTeX basics (not so difficult with a good book) than Lyx commands because, once done and with the AucTeX package for Emacs you have a powerful typesetting system under your finger tips.
