well...
you don't want to run e2fsck on a mounted filesystem sooo...
I am assuming this happens on reboot?
are you shutting down properly? 
(ie shutdown -r now or shutdown -h now)
this is usually the case when a machine is not shutdown right or
is not properly unmounting filesystems

hmmm why would you shutdown? :)
