How do I setup /dev/cdrom?

I just installed Debian 2.0 from floppies that I
downloaded from ftp.debian.org.

I suppose the install program did not setup a
/dev/cdrom because I install from floppy.
Even though I installed the cdrom driver when
asked by the install program.

I type "#insmod cdrom" and I get:
/lib/modules/2.0.33/cdrom/cdrom.o: a module named cdrom already
        exists

I type "#mknod -m 666 /dev/cdrom b 42 0:
That works ok but when I type
"#mount /dev/cdrom /cdrom" I get
mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/cdrom as a block device
and then the (maybe 'insmod driver'?) comes up.

And I of course have a cdrom entry in fstab.

Any help with making a /dev/cdrom will be looked on
with a great amount of thanks 8-).

Later,
--Ray
