I think there are two things to be said about this that have not been mentioned (I think). 1) If all you want to do is upgrade a few packages, dpkg is your friend: `dpkg --install <package>.deb' is much quicker than running dselect. 2) The interface of dselect is known to be a bit klunky (by which I mean: not so intuitive). That is why an alternative, `apt' is in the works. As far as I know it will be available somewhere in debian2.1. It might be a better idea for people to put their energy in that project than to improve on the practically dead corpse that dselect is. Eric -- E.L.
