It looks like one of the disks in my fileserver has crashed - loads of data lost. Not an issue - that's what backups are for!
However, I want to know if the hardware is sound (I'm not convinced it is - or was to begin with but that's another issue). Under DOS/Windows I'd run scandisk - what is the debian/linux equivalent?
