First run tzconfig to ensure that the time zone is correct.  If you
get asked whether your hardware clock is set to GMT answer yes.  If
not, edit the file /etc/init.d/boot on a bo system with the GMT=""
line and set GMT="-u" as indicated in the comments.  Remember to use
the -u parameter when calling clock.

For further information read the manual page on clock, especially on
how to correctly set your clock initially.

BTW: If you update to a hamm system, replace clock by hwclock and
     /etc/init.d/boot by /etc/default/rcS in the above description.
