works for me. This is with an old escom trackball, that has "autoswitching"
between dump microsoft protocoll and mousesystems. I think you too have such
a mouse. Try also only one of them.

You may also experience problems with gpm then. Try using the "-o" option
with either "both", "dtr" or "dts". I have "-o both" in /etc/gpm.conf:

append="-o both -l \"a-zA-Z0-9_.:~/300-326330-366370-377\""

But in reality I use "bare" microsoft mode here, because it is much
smoother. MouseSystems mode with my trackball and gpm seems to be a bit
stucky and uneasy, even with "responsiveness" set.

Do you have only two Buttons? If you have three, you can probably remove
