Personally, I have the following setup: Adaptec 2940UW 3 x 4.3 GB UW SCSI HDDs 3 x 128 MB swap, one per drive 128 MB root partition on /dev/sda RAID-0 across the remaining space on all drives It gets me some really good performance. I ran `bonnie' today.
