The following applies to hamm (the unstable version) only!
Do not do it in the stable version.
After installing xlib6 to get Netscape going (which did not
work after installing xlib6, which is still being fixed by the
developers), I followed the advice to
cd /usr/i486-linuxlibc1/lib/X11
then
ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/locale locale
ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults app-defaults
...but this was not enough. I had to
rm -r locale
and
rm -r app-defaults
in /usr/i486-linuxlibc1/lib/X11
first.
Then I made the symlinks. Now Netscape works. The old /locale
and /app-defaults apparently needed to be removed by the install
automatically.
