My suggestion(enhancement) is more refined. The current way doesn't allow some programs to be run before others. Plus, I have more "runlevels". This would allow for an external dialer, instead of having to have the <connect> option in pppd. Please reread the original post, and think everything through carefully(not meant as a flame).
