Well, more information would be nice. When mail appears to be stuck like this, try searching /var/log/smail/logfile for [ABCDEFG-HJKLMNO] (although in actuality it'll look more like [m0yDUOd-0007EHC]), and post telling what the logfile has to say about the message.
