I would like to help but cannot.

I used to get the message re "Unknown PCI device" but my system carried on
regardless.  There was advice to report it to someone in France, which I
did and the problem eventually went away.

The boot kernel probes for many, many bits of hardware and my guess is
that it is probing something that does not like being probed.  Your best
hope is to track down someone with a similar laptop.  Or you could ask
someone to make you a custom kernel with only the required inclusions.
As I have not used Debian with a laptop I do not feel competent to do it
myself.
