Well, this is the root of my question, I guess ... should I use dpkg to unpack them, or what? They're simply ar files, or so I've been told, but I have little experience with dpkg internals.
In case it does come down to extracting the manpages, you can use `dpkg-deb --fsys-tarfile' to pipe out the tarfile (or `dpkg-deb --extract') and not have to deal with the ar archive directly. -- E-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST.
