Hi, Can anyone please tell me the difference between the files vmliniz and zImage ?
I recompiled the kernel-2.0.32 and the new vmlinux file in the linux directory was 1087525 bytes while the original kernel-2.0.32 vmlinux file was 675524 bytes... quite a difference. the new zImage file was 439720 bytes. Dos anyone know why there should be such a difference when I used just the defaults and enabled ipmasqurading in the new kernel ?
