You might confirm that all of these installed correctly. As someone else mentioned, TeTeX is simply a LaTeX distribution. You might look into AuCTeX, another distribution; it looks to be quite full-featured from my short time using it. I'm thinking your problem stems from some dependency on a resource that either was not installed or did not install correctly and needs to be reinstalled. -- David S.
