Well, they're compatible in the sense that they work, and if you can
figure out the pinouts on the 9 pin plug on the back you can write some
software to monitor them.  (It's not so bad as all that; some folks have
made a stab at writing the software already).  However, APC does not
support Linux; they don't release the design specs nor do they port
their "Powerchute" software to Linux.

If you can deal with that, than you're ok.  We use all APC's here (the
boss is in love with them), so I can't point you towards a UPS which can
easily be monitored with Linux tools.
