dselect was unable to upgrade my samba using samba_1.9.18p2-1.deb. I then rather foolishly used "dpkg --purge samba" to see if a fresh install went better, this was a mistake since it left me with no samba at all instead of the older one. I have copied the dselect messages to the end of this message. Is there a known problem? If not, is there a log file I should look into for more details?
