smail is refusing connections by fetchmail... there are no error messages in any of the smail log files. I'm using the smail package from bo-updates on Debian/hamm w/ procmail... Anyone have an idea on what is wrong?
Usually this is caused by DNS problems; i.e., fetchmail tries to connect to the local machine through its DNS name, but the DNS name doesn't point to a real machine so it gets a connection refused error. Workaround: Add mda "/usr/sbin/smail -oem YOUR-USERNAME" to the end of each `poll' line in .fetchmailrc. -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] . Trouble? e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .
