Hi, I've noticed an odd problem.. I've got a 2.0.33 machine running Debian GNU/Linux, with a:
smc-ultra.c:v2.00 6/6/96 Donald Becker ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) eth0: SMC EtherEZ at 0x240, 00 00 C0 DE 81 E2,EEPROM IRQ 10 programmed-I/O mode. installed. It seems to work fine, but every few days, I get messages like these: Jan 27 13:31:33 ecglaf kernel: <7>eth0: Tx timed out, cable problem? TSR=0xc0, ISR=0x0, t=59. Jan 27 19:34:09 ecglaf kernel: <7>eth0: Tx timed out, cable problem? TSR=0xc0, ISR=0x0, t=60. Jan 27 20:30:01 ecglaf kernel: <4>eth0: Too much work at interrupt, status 0x01 After which the networking seems to slow down noticeably, but not die altogether. I took a brief look at the kernel code generating these messages, in 8390.c, but I really dont have much of an idea of what's going on there. Any ideas? Other places to ask?
