I've been installing and reinstalling debian over the past few days. One reason I've had to reinstall it is that I've been very confused about, e.g., whether a package that claims to require tcl-7.4 really needs that version, and is incompatible with tcl-7.6. (I think expect caused me trouble in this regard.) The info messages in many cases could be improved by being, well, more informative.
