Hmmm. Weird. I have block mode, LBA and all those things disabled, and it's an ISA IDE controller. Anyway I got it running with some special 2.0.18 boot disks on the Debian 1.1.11 CD I have. 1.1.1 seemed to have some special kernels but not special boot disks.
