When I installed Debian for the first time, I captured the directory structure of the /etc directory and printed it for future reference. I did this more as a comparison to my previous RH system just out of curiosity.
Today I went exploring my system to find that I had no rc0.d, rc1.d, rc2.d, rc3.d, rc4.d, rc5.d and rc6.d directories below /etc I never manually removed these directories and my system is working just fine. What would be the reason that they are no longer there?
