Type `mount' after mounting it and you'll get a list of all the mounted disks, including type they're mounted as. It probably will say iso9660. Also, check /var/log/kern.log and see if there's something like: Nov 17 20:11:31 psyche kernel: ISO9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A which indicates the RockRidge extensions. > The CD is supposedly accessible by Unix, Win 95 & NT, and Mac. There are some strange CD formats that show up differently on a Mac than on other machines; they're sort of a dual format. This might confuse other CD-ROM drivers.
