Ah strange. What does 'cat /proc/sys/kernel/domainname' say? If it's wrong, you can correct it by "echo correct.domain > proc/.../domainname". That usually fixes it for me. Also, does reboting fix it for you? Other than that, I have no clue. (BTW, I think defaultdomain is from the debian NIS package.
