Alan, If memory serves me correct, the current version of the eepro driver is hardcoded (somehow) to work on IRQ 5. Do you have a sound card installed on IRQ 5? The latest driver from the author fixes this problem. Look in the driver source for his email address.
Also, check using dmesg as to what ethernet connection the driver is using. The module should show 10B2 or 10BT (if you have a combo card) As a last resort, have you used the SOFTSET2 program that came with the card to do a diagnostic on it?
