.Xresources file

Hello Debian users,

I just recently realized that my .Xresources file is not being run everytime I log into my account. While I can easily put this in my .bashrc file and execute it with the xrdb command, I am trying to understand what's going on here. Can anyone tell me why this doesn't get executed everytime I log into my machine?
