I recently installed 1.3.1 from CDROM; this is my first linux installation. Most of it went pretty smoothly, but I still have a couple of problems. One of that I can't get xdm to work. (If I reconfigure to use startx everything works fine). Running xdm -debug 2 gives the following output and then stops:
