Check that the settings are ok in the kernel by: "cat /dev/sndstat" (I think that's it). Then kill nas if it is running "killall nas". Try it now. If it works, look at what you just killed "man nas". Finally, give it a proper funeral with dpkg -r nas (I think) or comment out the start-stop daemon in /etc/init.d/nas. Just a guess, but nas is usually the cause of snd dev busy problems.
