You might find it simpler to take if _off_ the sb card and attach it to
your main HD controller,  if you have an open ide channel ... it's then
accessible in the /deb/hd# tree,  and works with the standard
kernel-supported ATAPI cd-rom driver.
        A bonus,  if you use win95 at all,  is that win95 seems to have an
easier time finding the long (rockridge?) filenames on the cd this way.
