OK. libc6 was one of the suspects when trying to compile lyx. ultimately I had to do a clean install (we hadn't found out about the hardware problems yet, either). > You shouldn't use programmes that use xforms anyway, as it's non-free > software. Lyx will be moved away from xforms, but it has more pressing matters.
