No, this is not correct, since xinit is an *alternative* way to start the X system if you aren't running xdm. The proper place is in $HOME/.xsession. You must have 'allow-user-xsession' in /etc/X11/config in addition. Also, make sure $HOME/.xsession has executable permissions for the user or it won't be run. -- Jens B.
