I'm pretty sure this is the exact same problem I had yesterday.  The
problem in my case was that the /etc/hosts file on the machine I was
tryong to rlogin to did not have an entry for the machine I was trying
to log in from.  Needless to say the error message from rlogin was
less than helpful.
